On October 14, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced eight new confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. All those cases are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the eight new imported cases, they are six men and two women, aged between 10 to 49 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from the US (two cases), Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines (three cases), and Indonesia. They arrived between September 29 and October 12.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,667,605 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,650,319. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,321 cases. Of the 16,321 confirmed cases, 1,684 are imported; 14,583 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 846 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 846 deaths, 834 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
