1. Strengthening measures of COVID-19 vaccination

Starting from New Year's Day, personnel in 24 workplaces must be fully vaccinated with 2 doses of vaccines. Moreover, individuals can enter workplaces only after completing two-dose vaccines for 14 days. The places include senior high schools and below, kindergartens, tuition centers, leisure sports venues, electronic game venues, so-called “eight major special industries”- which include nightclubs, hostess and karaoke bars, teahouses and saunas, large banquet venues, Childcare centers, etc.

2. Workers on the day and night shifts must be paid for overtime work

Starting from 2022, the "Precautions for Public Institutions to Implement Labor Day & Night Shift Duties" shall be abolished. Employers must comply Labor Standards Act and give overtime pay. If the working hour exceeds 8 hours, the subsequent working hours shall be included in the number of extended working hours, and employees shall be paid.

3. The basic salary will be increased to NT$25,250 per month

Workers' monthly minimum wage would increase by 5.21 percent, from NT$24,000 to NT$25,250, beginning January 1, 2022, while their hourly minimum wage will increase from NT$160 to NT$168. The monthly and hourly compensation adjustments are expected to help 2.45 million workers, according to the Ministry of Labor (MOL).

4. Subsidy for motorbike replacement

The Environmental Protection Administration subsidizes the replacement of motorbikes which were manufactured before June 30, 2007, at NT$2,000 each. The measures will be launched in January, 2022 and are expected to be implemented at the end of January. However, the subsidy period will last till the end of 2023.

5. Subsidy for motorbike training

To improve the safety of motorbike riding, people are encouraged to attend a three-day training class before taking a license test. Starting from New Year's Day, the subsidy for driving training will be at NT$1,300 per person, and the number of people benefiting from the subsidy will be 20,000.

6. No rewards will be given for obtaining too many invoices by purchasing small-value goods

To prevent people from intentionally getting too many invoices with small consumption, starting from New Year's Day, those who meet the 4 requirements such as obtaining many invoices within a short period, making small-value purchases, winning Taiwan receipt lottery for multiple times, and in an unreasonable way, will not be given rewards.

7. Fume prevention and control facilities should be installed in the catering industry

Those newly established catering businesses with a certain scale should install oil fume prevention and control facilities, and operate and maintain them properly. The catering businesses in New Taipei City and Taipei City are subject to stricter control conditions to protect the health of the people and employees.

8. Real-name system implemented for pesticide purchase

Pesticide real-name system, registration of pesticide purchaser’s identity card number or ROC (Taiwan) Resident Certificate number, will be added. The counseling period will end on December 31, 2021, and will be implemented on January 1, 2022.
