To encourage new immigrants to enroll at schools and work in Taiwan, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has simplified the authentication process of education certificates obtained by new immigrants in foreign primary and secondary schools. With this amendment, new immigrants would only need to bring their academic certificates & affidavit for authentication at the local governments.

Currently, the authentication of academic certificates at the local governments is challenging due to language barriers. As there are a lot of new immigrants coming from Southeast Asian countries, K-12 Education Administration(國教署), Ministry of Education (MOE) specially entrusted to the Department of Southeast Asian Studies, National Chi Nan University (國立暨南國際大學) to carry out the "Project for Recognition of New Immigrants and Their Children’s Foreign Primary and Secondary School Qualifications".

In addition, the university would also help check the authentication of qualifications applied by the Southeast Asia new immigrants, as well as compile information about Southeast Asian schools to effectively assist local governments and speed up the application process.

At the same time, National Chi Nan University will hold information talks regularly to enable more new immigrants to understand the simplified process of the authentication of their education certificates obtained overseas.
