Tainan Public Library declared that it will collaborate with the association (社團法人台南市新住民關懷服務協會) to choose 100 books in Chinese, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia, among other languages, in order to provide additional reading materials to new immigrants to encourage cross-cultural interactions.

Because of their busy schedules, need to care for their families, or language obstacles, Tainan Public Library reported that many new immigrants or migrant workers seldom use library resources. The Tainan Public Library partnered with manpower group last year to give books to migrant workers stationed at the factory so they may read nearby. The initiative was well-received. It will keep extending its services to the association (社團法人台南市新住民關懷服務協會) this year.

The 100 books chosen this time include picture books that families can read together, cookbooks that teach cooking techniques, and books on topics like literary novels, healthcare, and art design so that new immigrants can read books in various fields nearby and absorb new information.
