Local governments offer free screening services for populations at high risk of contracting Tuberculosis (TB) in an effort to enhance tuberculosis prevention and treatment and decrease the infection incidence. This year, free screening services will be offered to new immigrants, long-term care facilities, people on renal dialysis, people with diabetes, COPD, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. services for testing to improve TB control.

The Department of Health, Taipei City Government appeals people to be cautious and check if they have TB if they have symptoms like coughing for two weeks, phlegm, chest discomfort, weight loss, appetite loss, fever, etc. The eligibility for free screening has added to five main groupings includes the kidney, diabetes, long-term care facilities, new immigrants.
