The director of the Kaohsiung City Office of the Bureau of Labor Insurance was specially invited by the NIA Kaohsiung City First Service Center to introduce the three main labor retirement insurances—"Labor Insurance Old-Age Benefits" "Old-Age Pension Benefits of National Pension Insurance," and "Labor Pension"—to the new immigrants. Benefit systems, eligibility requirements, application procedures, and other factors help new immigrants understand their own rights and interests.

In regards to old-age pension benefits, the director of the Kaohsiung City Office of the Bureau of Labor Insurance stated that as long as on-the-job employees pay insurance premiums in accordance with the rules and satisfy the eligibility requirements for claiming benefits when they leave their jobs, they are eligible to apply for old-age pension benefits. Participants in national annuity insurance must pay premiums in accordance with rules and those who do not engage in labor insurance, agriculture insurance, public school insurance, or military insurance are required to do so. They can only apply for an old-age pension when they are 65 years old.
