According to a media report, the 15-year tradition has been adapted to follow the pandemic prevention measures in Thailand. Therefore, the "Christmas Santa Claus Elephants" wear a Christmas hat and a white mask to remind the public of the importance of taking care of their health.

The elephants gave away presents such as masks, hand sanitizers and balloons which have attracted many students who are having online classes. The event organizer said, "We know that the students are under great pressure due to the virus outbreak, and we hope this event can make them happy and encourage them when they return to school."

It is reported that although Thailand is a country composed of 98% Buddhists, people are still very enthusiastic about the annual Christmas event and enjoy the year-end festive vibes very much.
