As the number of foreign students coming to Taiwan is increasing, MingDao University (明道大學) arranged outings for its students. Activities include beach cleaning at Fangyuan Township, Changhua County, visiting wetlands, understanding wetland ecological conservation, and learning how to make scented sachets. The journeys are both educational and meaningful.

With the help from senior students, foreign students were able to understand local culture and participate in activities better. Students team up to clean the beach as well as recycle the waste.

An old lady from the local community guided foreign students to make scented sachets that resemble clams. Xi Guan Jun (席冠軍), a student from Thailand who is studying in the Department of Materials and Energy at Mingdao University, said that he learned how to sew and felt the kindness of the old lady.

Dean of International Affairs of MingDao University, Xiao Ya Bo (蕭雅柏), mentioned that the school has received positive feedback from Toda Elementary School (都達國小) after foreign students participated in volunteer work there. Therefore, students were brought to experience beach cleaning this time.

Lastly, students traveled to Fangyuan Wetlands and admired the splendid view of the reflection of the wetland to end the journey.
