According to the British Office in Taiwan, the British Government Chevening Scholarship gives aspiring global leaders the chance to attend British colleges. Every year, it provides funding for around 1,500 scholars from all over the world to study in the UK. There have been 56,000 Chevening graduates worldwide in the forty years since it was founded, with 19 of them holding higher positions in government than heads of state or other high-ranking officials.

In 1990, Chevening was established in Taiwan. According to John Dennis, the British Office's representative in Taiwan, over 240 exceptional academics from Taiwan have joined the Chevening family. They are all visionaries, innovators, and leaders. Together, the distinct experiences and tales of the relationship with the UK have attested to the transformational potential of education and significantly aided in the rapid advancement of Taiwan-UK ties.

Furthermore, applications for the "Chevening Scholarship 2024/25" are being accepted through November 7th. The Chevening Scholarship from Taiwan covers the cost of a master's program in the UK for a full year. At the time of application, qualified candidates had to have completed two years of work experience in addition to a college degree.
