There has been a singing contest called "New Taipei City Labor Star Singing Contest" for a very long time. The registration period for the contest has been extended until July 28 by the Department of Labor, New Taipei City, in an effort to attract more migrant workers employed in Taiwan to take part.

According to the Department of Labor, New Taipei City, registration for this year's competition has begun in June. Despite the fact that many migrant workers indicated a strong interest in the competition, few of them actually applied. The Department of Labor has thus decided to extend the registration deadline until 6:00 pm on July 28 in an effort to encourage migrant workers to actively participate in this event.

The contest is open to all migrant workers who have resided or worked in New Taipei City in the previous three years. Please check the official website for further information.
