Taiwan extends the level 3 COVID-19 alert to June 14, due to the rise of local infection cases. Here are eight tips for maintaining a germ-free environment. 

1. Always wash your hands: To avoid surface transmission, many people use other items to touch public surfaces. The items themselves may become infectious if not washed properly. The most important way to avoid coronavirus is to always wash your hands.

2. Leave outdoor footwear shoes outside:To avoid bringing home the coronavirus, outdoor footwear should be separated from indoor footwear. After returning home, disinfect your outdoor footwear and placed them in a ventilated place.

3. Disinfect doorknobs and light switches: Doorknobs and light switches are the very first place you touch when arriving home. Remember to disinfect the surfaces you touched, and then wash your hands.   

4. Disinfect your items: Remember to disinfect your items, such as your smart card, smartphone, wallet, etc.

5. Dispose of the face mask correctly: For people who show symptoms of COVID-19, place your mask in a plastic bag before throwing the mask away. For other people who do not show any symptoms of COVID-19, throw your mask into a bin with a lid. And remember to wash your hands after disposing of your mask.

6. Hand your jacket in a ventilated place: Wash your jacket every day after arriving home. But if you are unable to wash it, hang the jacket in a ventilated place.

7. Wash your clothes when you get home: Take off your clothes and wash them to decreases the risk of infection. 

8. Avoid lying on the bed before taking a shower: If you are out all day, the coronavirus may stay on your body or hair. To avoid the spread of the coronavirus disease, shower immediately after arriving home, and avoid lying on the bed.

To reduce the spread of the coronavirus, remember to wear a mask and maintain social distance. And changing clothes when getting home will help limit the chances of getting coronavirus disease.
