The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) declared to extend the nationwide level 3 alert to June 14. According to  Taiwan News, Uber Eats was the first service in the twin cities (Taipei and New Taipei City) to mandate "leave at door" and "cashless payment" via credit/debit card or Apple Pay. While Foodpanda launches various discounts to encourage consumers to use online payments to reduce the chance of interpersonal contact, considering that some elderly or students are unable to use the online payment function.

Uber Eats, the reason for not receiving cash is to reduce the chance of interpersonal contact. Taiwan News says Uber Eats mentions to enhanced its hygiene requirements. Not only are drivers required to wear a mask while on deliveries, "In this uncertain time, fighting the spread of COVID-19 with upgraded hygiene safety measures is a top priority for us as delivery is an essential service to us all."

Foodpanda has not yet mandate cashless payment, considering that some elderly and students are unable to use online payment. But Foodpanda highly recommends people to use the "contactless" food delivery service.

New Taipei City Government reminded the delivery platform operators to provide good absorbing and breathable clothes to their delivery drivers. And delivery drivers should conduct health management, and be careful of the summer heat.
