As Thanksgiving and the International Volunteer Day are around the corner, New Taipei City Library Louzou Family Branch prepared many English reading books for kids to have a special reading tutor session on Nov 23rd. Kids can learn about being grateful to everyone who is around them, helping them with learning and experiencing the different culture.
“ English Reading Buddies” is a reading tutor session started up by a bunch of senior high school students from new Taipei city American school. It is a free tutoring session for kids to learn English reading and speaking every month in the library. The session is a success which attracts many kids to come participate every month. This time before Thanksgiving, New Taipei City library set up a reading table for kids to experience what is like to have a thanksgiving reading instead of thanksgiving dinner, but still, they learn how to be grateful for those volunteers and expertise their English ability at the same time.
Fourth Thursday in November (Nov 28th) is Thanksgiving Day, while Dec 5th is the International Volunteer Day supported by United Nation. Kids not only learn a lot from their tutor, they also learn how to be grateful by writing thank you cards for those volunteers after the session. The free reading tutor session is held on every third Saturday afternoon. For more information about how to sign up, please visit New Taipei City Library website http://www.library.ntpc.gov.tw/, or call the number (02)2288-8294.
