Deutsche Welle (DW) has launched "Tasty Taipei" - a new program featuring Taipei food. For the first time since DW’s establishment, a city's cuisine has become the main theme.
Tasty Taipei is broadcasted weekly on the Deutsche Welle web channel and social media with a total of 5 episodes. In particular, Miggin Leigh, an award-winning host, visited the Raohe Street Night Market, Ding Taifeng, first-class porridge with other small dishes, and various unique dishes around Taipei.
Megan not only tried to use Chinese to order pearl milk tea, used chopsticks to pick up food, dressed as a Qing emperor to eat spicy hot pot, but also challenged herself with the well-known stinky tofu.
In addition, the program is designed with a lot of fun cross-cultural interactions, including guessing which dish was named fly's head among several dishes at the first-class porridge restaurant!
Megan praised Taiwanese cuisine since its amazing and healthy eating habits are worth emulating. She said: "What I learned in Taiwan is how to eat healthier... You can eat sweet potatoes without sugar, and eat rice but not cakes." Megan said that she would change her eating habits afer returning to Germany and even find Taiwanese restaurants there to enjoy the food.
Finally, she hoped to come back to Taiwan and visit other cities .
