On September 14, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced five new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the five new cases, two are domestic and the other three are imported. The CECC reported no deaths today.

Regarding the two domestic cases, Case #16204 and Case #16205 are an over 30-year-old male and a girl under five years old, respectively. They are family members who live together. After they were given COVID-19 tests by the health authority, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the cases on September 14.

Regarding the three new imported cases, they are one man and two women, aged between 30 to 69 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Cambodia, the US, and Indonesia, and they arrived between August 20 and September 1.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,028,468 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,011,399. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,098 cases. Of the 16,098 confirmed cases, 1,474 are imported; 14,570 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 839 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 839 deaths, 829 are from domestic cases and the other 10 are from imported cases.
