From now on, the new resident spouse can apply for college as a different identity student, which provides them with a more friendly education path, hoping this act will bring more diverse talents. If the new resident stays in Taiwan because of marriage, they can study in college as a foreign student as the same degree if they study in their home countries. Legislator, Lee Li Feng, who came up with the amendment, has been considering the language obstacle for the new resident if they were be seen the same as other local students after naturalization, the normal education path to apply for school will be a disadvantage to them.
