Taoyuan City mayor Cheng Wen-tsan (鄭文燦) announced on September 9 that Taoyuan City will implement an enhanced Level 2 epidemic alert until September 23.

The maximum number of people gathering indoors and outdoors shall be 50 and 100 respectively. An epidemic response plan must be prepared in case the limit has been exceeded. Stores and supermarkets will also have enhanced crowd control; hospitals and long-term care facilities will stop visitations indefinitely and the company for each patient will be limited to 1 person. Other epidemic prevention measures will be done in accordance with the regulations of the Level 2 epidemic alert.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching and mayor Cheng stated that the local government has canceled all public events and activities in celebrating the festival. Barbecue gatherings are not allowed in public spaces such as parks, scenic spots, amusement areas, and camping sites.

Crowd control will be implemented in shopping malls, department stores, and traffic lights will be used to divert traffic in popular tourist attractions in Taoyuan City.

Furthermore, Taoyuan City mayor Cheng Wen-tsan emphasized that all must be cautious in facing the epidemic and that prevention measures must be followed. Even if these measures tend to make things less convenient, the local government is still trying to do its best to support its citizens in this time of crisis.
