People grill, eat mooncakes, and enjoy the full moon at the Mid-Autumn Festival. Another dish appropriate for the Mid-Autumn Festival is pomelo (Wendan), which is abundant throughout the festival. Even though pomelo is low in calories and packed with nutrients, people with high blood sugar should control their portion sizes.

Vitamin C, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, potassium, natural pectin, dietary fiber, and vitamin B2 are just a few of the components abundant in pomelo. It provides benefits for digestion, decreasing intravascular cholesterol, increasing immunity, lowering blood pressure, and removing edema. It also has beautifying effects. Despite the fact that pomelo provides a range of nutrients, nutritionists advise against eating too much or too little of it. Simply consume 5 to 6 pieces at once.

Additionally, nutritionists point out that the high potassium content of pomelo makes it challenging for persons with renal disease or reduced kidney function to digest too much potassium. Three servings of fruit, or more, are found in one pomelo. Blood sugar levels might readily rise as a result of excessive eating. Don't overeat if you have diabetes or need to regulate your blood sugar. Pomelo will induce stomach acid secretion in those with weak digestive systems or those who are prone to gastroesophageal reflux, and consuming too much grapefruit can quickly result in diarrhea.

In addition, nutritionists pointed out that there are 7 kinds of drugs that cannot be consumed with grapefruit at the same time, including immunosuppressants (cyclosporin), blood lipid-lowering drugs (statins), blood pressure-lowering drugs (Amlodipine, felodipine, nifeddipine OROS, verapamil), antihistamines (astemizole, terfenadine), antiarrhythmic drugs (amiodarone), antithrombotic drugs (cilostazol), antiepileptic drugs (carbamazepine), etc. Avoid interactions and uncomfortable side effects if the aforementioned medications are taken with pomelo.
