The "Dream Building Program for New Residents and Their Children" organized by the Immigration Department has entered its 10th year this year. Since its establishment, the program has been committed to helping new residents and their children realize their dreams. The participants have shown unparalleled enthusiasm in the journey of realizing their dreams. With perseverance, their achievements and joy have inspired countless people. We will introduce the outstanding winners of this year's "Multiple Media and Digital Technology Group" one by one. Let's take a look at what technologies and methods these new residents have used to realize their dreams!

"Ni Love Record" - Pan Hongyu&Dong Yupei&Lin Yucheng

Pan Hongyu's mother is from Indonesia, which made him interested in Indonesian spice culture since he was a child. A variety of Indonesian spices are often used in home cooking, such as lemongrass, turmeric and lemon leaves. The understanding of Indonesian spices in Taiwan was limited, so I decided to promote Indonesian spice culture, and joined hands with Dong Yupei, the son of new residents, and my friend Lin Yucheng to participate in the Dream Building Project to promote cross-cultural exchanges.

They conducted in-depth research on the history and culture of spices and traveled to Indonesian spice markets and plantations to record the use and purchase process of spices. After returning to Taiwan, I compiled three videos of Indonesian spices and held a multicultural sharing session. In addition, creating an introduction website for Indonesian spices will enhance Taiwanese people’s understanding of Indonesian spices, promote cultural exchanges, and promote a social atmosphere of harmony and co-prosperity.Pan Hongyu (middle), Dong Yupei (2nd from left), and Lin Yucheng (1st from left) hold a spice exhibition ( picture / reproduced from NIA FB of the Immigration Department )

"World Robot Competition, here we come" - Yin Jinling, Yin Laiyu

At the National Nanke Experimental High School in Tainan City, the famous FRC6998 robot is a well-known team. They participated in the American competition and entered the finals with outstanding performance. Yin Jinling and his sister Yin Laiyu are also members. The brother and sister go to school for training during holidays, learn robot design and competition rules, and conduct resource management and community promotion.

Despite their busy schedules, they felt fulfilled and benefited a lot from the exchanges with major companies and schools. In the end, although they did not enter the finals, they won the Team Sustainability Award. This experience is of great significance. They will continue to promote robot activities, inspire more people to be interested in robots, and bravely pursue their dreams.Yin Jinling ( 2nd from the right ) and Yin Laiyu ( 1st from the right ) assist the FRC 6998 team of Nanke Shizhong to participate in the exhibition ( picture / reproduced from the Immigration Department NIA FB )
