Cold Chain Logistics' New Southbound Business Opportunities, Taiwan's Techniques Exporting Around the World

To enhance the international exports of Taiwan's cold chain logistics, TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council), supported by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, cooperated with Taiwan Cold Chain Association and Taiwan Association of Logistics Management to handle "Taiwan New Southbound Cold Chain Seminar" on December 10. They saw the prosperous future of the rising cold chain business opportunities of New Southbound, so invited 6 foreign customers who operated cold chain services and fresh food selling from 5 countries, such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Myanmar...etc., 9 foreign customers who operated aquaculture, and 138 Taiwanese customers to participate in the seminar. Additionally, the foreign customers could also visit the representative firms of the domestic cold chain industry, such as Advantech, All Logistic Property, Kenmec Mechanic Engineering Company, and RD and D Cold Logistics Company to see the comprehensive picture of the customized exports services of Taiwan's techniques of food preservation and cooling control.

Taiwan's cold chain industry provides a firm "Cross-border services plan" in the aquaculture field and adopts the mutual distribution with multiple layers of temperature to provide the service of preservation at low temperatures. Apart from the aquaculture products such as fresh fruits, cold chain services applications are also wide. Food products, liquors, medicines, and organic food products are in high demand, and Taiwan has been internationally certified in the field of time-based transports and temperature-sensitive products.

New Southbound Countries, such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Indonesia, have abundant output; however, they are limited to the preservation techniques, and their perishable food is up to 30-40 percent.

Aung Moe Khine Manufacturing Com. Ltd., which is from Myanmar, needs to handle 50 tonnes of seafood products each month. Hence, the purpose that it came to Taiwan this time is to figure out Taiwan's relevant techniques and services of the cold chain. Besides, Integrated Cold Chain Logistics Sdn Ghd, which is from Malaysia, mainly serves professional cold chain logistics companies, such as the local manufacturers, processing manufacturers, distributors, food manufacturers, and retailers and came to Taiwan for further cooperation of improving the logistics transports' cooling equipment and automatic systems with Taiwan's firms.

Taiwanese need to attribute all the success of abundant fresh food at convenience stores to the perfect cold chain system. Taiwan has a well-connected system of the upstream and downstream cold chain. This year, TAITRA led Taiwanese manufacturers to join in the "Taiwan Expo in Vietnam" and handled "Taiwan New Southbound Cold Chain Seminar". It was hoped that cooperating with the strength of industry associations will assist relevant manufacturers in breaking into the Southeast cold chain market and export Taiwan's advantaged cold chain techniques to the world.
