The 2025 Kaohsiung New Year's Eve event—the "Yiwu Starry Sea Voyage"—announced on December 22nd that it will launch a 250-second, thousand-round fireworks display at Yiwu. It will be accompanied by Bruno Mars's classic proposal song, "Just the Way You Are," and rainbow lighting from the Dream Mall Ferris wheel. This breathtaking fireworks show over the harbor will make you feel like you've seen the best fireworks, without having to travel to places like Sydney.

Mayor Chen Chi-mai said that this year's fireworks display will last 250 seconds, echoing the welcome of 2025. The homophone of 2025 is "Love you, love me," so he welcomes everyone to the New Year's Eve party to propose! He jokingly said that the fireworks display in the night sky over the harbor city, along with the soulful voice of Bruno Mars, will create a very moving moment, making it impossible for you not to say YES to your love.
The 2025 Yiwu New Year's Eve fireworks display is meticulously designed in three chapters: "Prelude—Colorful Kaohsiung" features thousands of small fireworks bursting in the harbor's night sky. Neon-colored flower pillars moving on the ground highlight the enthusiasm of the harbor city. Different heights create varied layered visual effects, showcasing the diverse aspects of the city; "Act Two—Silver-White Kaohsiung" features silver-white fireworks, such as silver crowns and white flash granite flowers, making the Kaohsiung night sky appear like a foreign silver-white world; "Epilogue—Kaohsiung's Centennial Celebration" will see fireworks in the shape of hearts and smiles simultaneously burst in the sky and on the ground. The spectacular finale will be grand opening salutes and golden crown fireworks, symbolizing the 100th anniversary of Kaohsiung City's establishment in 2024 and welcoming the new 2025.

The largest fireworks at the Yiwu New Year's Eve event are 8 inches in size and can be easily viewed from the surrounding areas. Excellent viewing points include Time Avenue, the Chunghua Fifth Road pedestrian lane, and the Jin'gong Bridge. Other recommended viewing points include Time Park and the Front Fort Star. The city government emphasizes that for the safety of the public and the setup and fall zone operations of the fireworks, vehicles, and people will be prohibited from entering the area south of the Success Bridge, north of the Expanded Road, and west of Success Second Road from 00:00 on December 30th. During the fireworks display, please avoid getting too close to the fireworks displays.
