Participants who complete the full training course and obtain a license can receive a subsidy of NT$1,300.Starting in 2025, a new "Driving Training 3.0" program will be introduced. Those with a learner's permit who enroll in the program can receive an additional NT$2,500 subsidy. These two subsidies can be combined for NT$3,800, with a cap of 2,000 participants. The Ministry of Education's Sports Administration has announced that the 2025 Youth Sports Vouchers will be available starting at 10 a.m. on January 1, 2025. Citizens aged 16 to 22 can claim their vouchers through the "SportsNet" platform. These vouchers can be used at designated partner stores for services related to playing sports and watching games. To enhance convenience, the voucher claim process for 2025 has been simplified. Users only need to fill out basic information and verify their identity using their National Health Insurance card number. Once verified, a text message with a verification code will be sent, allowing them to claim their vouchers. The Sports Administration aims to encourage citizens to unwind through sports and game spectating during their free time, promoting physical and mental relaxation while enjoying the energy of youth.

Expanded subsidies for 5 major cancer screenings starting in 2025.

To reduce cancer incidence and mortality rates among the population, the Ministry of Health and Welfare's National Health Agency will expand the age range and subsidy coverage for cancer screenings starting January 1, 2025. The program includes screenings for lung cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and human papillomavirus (HPV) testing, aiming to prevent cancer through early detection and treatment. Studies have shown that regular screenings significantly lower mortality rates. In 2023, 4.872 million individuals underwent screenings for the five major cancers, resulting in the detection of approximately 11,000 cancer cases and 52,000 precancerous conditions, ultimately saving more than 63,000 lives. Citizens can download the National Health Insurance Express App to check their previous screening records or visit the Cancer Screening Events and Medical Institution Information Query Website provided by the National Health Agency to confirm their eligibility. After verifying eligibility, individuals can bring their National Health Insurance card to designated medical institutions for screening.

With new trends in lodging, bringing your toiletries has become a must for travelers.

As the peak travel season for Taiwanese tourists approaches, the Environmental Protection Administration’s Recycling Fund Management Board has reminded travelers that, starting January 1 this year, accommodation providers are prohibited from offering liquid toiletries and skincare products in containers smaller than 180ml. Providers are encouraged to switch to large refillable wall-mounted dispensers instead. The Recycling Fund Management Board stated that this policy aims to address waste management issues and support the global "Tourism Plastic Reduction Initiative," without compromising the quality of services offered by the hospitality industry. At the same time, the board urges consumers to join the environmental movement by bringing their toiletries, such as slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, regardless of whether such amenities are provided at their accommodations. This proactive step supports green tourism and promotes the dual goal of sustainability and maintaining the quality of travel experiences.
