According to the Pingtung County Government, "The Czech Republic in Pingtung," co-organized by the Pingtung County Government and the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, began on December 4, 2021 at the Pingtung County Library's book launch reception for "Kytice." As a result, a series of books in an unusual voyage of literature began. Tomas Rizek, a well-known Czech illustrator, came to the celebration to share his thoughts with the guests. On the fourth level, the "Czech Republic Zone" showcases literary works and children's picture books in Chinese and Czech, allowing readers to learn more about Czech culture.

Literature, in addition to performing arts, is an important aspect in transmitting culture, according to Ms. Wu, Li-Hsueh, deputy magistrate of Pingtung County. Reading allows people to learn about Czech humanities and culture.

The translator and illustrator of "Kytice" were also present at the book launch celebration to showcase this breathtakingly gorgeous anthology depicting the Czech people's undying spirit.

Tomas Rizek, who now resides in Taiwan, shared 13 illustrations with guests at the book launch reception. Yolk Tempera was created using egg yolk as a medium. His paintings are vibrant and brilliant and prints of them were on exhibit at the gathering. The solo show of Tomas Rizek will open on December 28, 2021, at the Pingtung Art Museum.

The "Czech Republic Zone" is located on the 4th level of the Pingtung County Library's multi-cultural zone. The Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei gave 110 books, including works by well-known Czech authors Milan Kundera and Franz Kafka, as well as a variety of other publications in Czech-Chinese.

In addition, a Czech movie night beneath the stars will screen the international award-winning film Charlatan, providing locals with an opportunity to learn about the Czech Republic's rich humanities, culture, and arts on a weekend evening.
