The Yunlin County Service Station of the National Immigration Agency recently held the "2024 Volunteer and Interpreter Service Personnel Education Training" in collaboration with the Yunlin County Government's Social Affairs Department and the New Immigrant Family Service Center. The training aimed to enhance the quality of volunteer and interpreter services. The training program covered a wide range of topics, with Qiu Zhao-Wei, a social work supervisor from the Yunlin County New Immigrant Family Service Center, discussing "Trends in Volunteer Service and Interpreter Service Development" and "Cross-Cultural Sensitivity." Xu Hui-Wen, head of the Yunlin County Government's Social Affairs Department, introduced social resources available to new immigrants, thereby enhancing the volunteers' service knowledge. Volunteer Liao Rui-Jiao, who received a gold badge from the Ministry of the Interior, has been volunteering at the Yunlin County Service Station for nine years since retiring in 2015. She shared that the most rewarding part of her service is interacting with the public, noting that helping others brings her joy, and she considers the service station her "big family." Pan Bao-Rong, who has served as an interpreter volunteer at the station for 13 years, expressed her happiness in assisting, especially in interacting with fellow Indonesians, helping them feel at ease in a familiar linguistic environment.

Director Huang Zhong-Jie of the Yunlin County Service Station expressed his gratitude to the Yunlin County Government's Social Affairs Department for their support in providing venues and instructors and aiding in the promotion of new immigrant affairs. He emphasized that the efforts of volunteers and interpreters help new immigrants feel welcomed and supported at the service station and called for more people to join the ranks of volunteers to contribute to social harmony and progress.
