Professor Ye Yu Jing (葉郁菁) from the Department of Early Childhood Education, National Chiayi University, assisted the Department of Lifelong Education of the Ministry of Education to compile three sets of textbooks. 30 textbooks were officially published at the end of March.

The teaching materials are in Chinese and 7 other native languages of immigrants in Taiwan, including Vietnamese, Indonesian, Tagalog, Malay, Burmese, Cambodian and Thai. It is hoped that immigrant parents can read the picture books together with their children so that they would have an opportunity to teach their first languages to the next generation.
