Argentina native Jonathan has lived in Taiwan for more than eight years. His wife Alisha and he initially connected on Facebook. Alisha, who received her diploma from the Spanish Department, and Jonathan, who wanted to study Chinese, they became friends through languages exchange. Alisha organized a vacation to Argentina just three years after the two had met. Alisha not only saw her friends from elementary school who resided there, she also had her first encounter with Jonathan.

Later, Jonathan and Alisha made the decision to live together and wed in Argentina. The administrative processes for marriage registration are particularly difficult because Taiwan and Argentina don't have diplomatic relations. After Alisha became pregnant, the two ultimately made the decision to live in Taiwan after taking into account Jonathan's own goals and the future living situation.

Jonathan claimed that because of his lifelong interest in Chinese and Asian cultures as well as Taiwan's strong sense of security, he has always yearned to live in an Asian nation. Jonathan discovered why he enjoys Taiwan the best after visiting, in addition to being impressed by the energy and friendliness of Taiwanese people. Additionally, Jonathan, a longtime vegetarian, thinks Taiwan is a better place to practice his diet than Argentina is.
