Taitung County Government went to Singapore to promote organic tourism to enhance the post-pandemic tourism market

Taiwan will reopen its borders on October 13. Director of the Transportation and Tourism Development Department of Taitung County Government, Ming-Xun Yu, led a delegation to Singapore today to promote tourism, and introduce different ways to experience the diverse gameplay of Taitung to Tourist in the lobby of the Singapore Office of Tourism Bureau, M.O.T.C.

Ming-Xun Yu pointed out that Taitung’s strategy in promoting a slow-economy development if tourism is to focusing on organic tourism, which relies on local organic elements, ecological diversity, and natural cycles rather than external elements. Organic tourism also combines tradition, innovation and science, culture, environmental protection, education and other aspects to create a local life experience. At the same time, he hopes to promote tourism to Taitung through the charter flight mode. "Since you want to travel in depth, come directly to Taitung", hoping to let tourists enjoy the physical and mental health brought by tourism in this way. Organic tourism is a tourism model that focuses on combining the ecological environment to make the body and mind healthy.

In addition, Tourism Bureau, M.O.T.C. aims to promote 50 round-trip charter flights from Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asian countries to Taiwan next year with subsidies, hoping to attract foreign tourists to experience the beauty of Taitung through cooperation between the central and local governments.

Director of the Ocean Financial Cente, Zhi-hong Zheng, said that Taitung County is the first county to go to Singapore to promote tourism after Taiwan’s reopen on October. Through this seminar, Zhi-hong Zheng hopes to emphasize that "Taiwan is not just Taiwan." After the epidemic, when tourists are looking for a slow-moving gameplay, I hope that tourists will stay longer in Taitung and try different things.
