“Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network” Golden Horse Film Festival announces the full nominations of the 59th Golden Horse Awards. Among the best documentary nominations, And Miles to Go Before I Sleep, which tells the homicide of Vietnamese migrant worker Ruan, Guo-Fei(阮國非), successfully broke through the siege and was favored by the judges and was nominated. It is reported that the original film song "For You" of And Miles to Go Before I Sleep was also nominated for the best original film score. And the lyricist of the song "For You" is Ruan, Guo-Fei(阮國非) himself.

Ruan, Guo-Fei(阮國非) was a Vietnamese immigrant worker. He came to Taiwan on a loan to work in a manufacturing. He wanted to change his family's tough environments. However, Ruan’s pay was lower than anticipated so he took chances and left his previous work which made him a fled migrant worker. Unexpectedly, at 2 p.m. on August 31st, 2017, Ruan was accused of stealing a car by the Fengshan River in Hsinchu County. He clashed with the policeman Chen, Chong-Wen(陳崇文) and was shot nine shoots by the police. Unfortunately, Ruan died of blood loss at the age of 27.
However, there are still doubts surrounding the occurrence, such as why the police shot nine times at Ruan's key body parts despite the fact that he was unarmed, naked, and had left two cellphones at home. Ruan, Guo-Tong(阮國同), the father of G Ruan, Guo-Fei(阮國非), claims that since his son is unable to drive and does not own a driver's license, he is unable to steal a vehicle. On August 29th, 2018, Ruan, Guo-Tong(阮國同) eventually received an apology from policeman Chen, Chong-Wen (陳崇文) following multiple court appearances. A legal settlement for 2.6 million NTD was negotiated between the two parties, which also included a 200,000 NTD payment for funeral transportation.

Director Tsai, Tsung-Lung(蔡崇隆), who won the Best Documentary at the 24th Golden Harvest Awards for Formosa Homicide Chronicle(島國殺人紀事) and was nominated for the Best Documentary at the Golden Horse Awards in 2017 as the producer of Condemned Practice Mode.(徐自強的練習題) Tsai took Ruan, Guo-Fei's incident as the background and focused on the issue of migrant workers from Southeast Asia was filmed into a documentary And Miles to Go Before I Sleep(九槍), which was nominated from 40 registered films for the 59 Golden Horse Awards.
