Green Energy Awards: Congratulations to Taoyuan City Government for receiving the "Keeling Curve Award"

Taoyuan City's continued efforts in promoting sustainable green energy have gained international recognition. Taoyuan City Government will participate in this year's Climate Change Action Awards hosted by the international organization "Global Warming Mitigation Project (GWMP)". Among many applicants in the finals, Taoyuan City is the only city in the world to be shortlisted for the Keeling Curve Award (基林曲線獎).

Department of Environmental Protection, Taoyuan City explained that the development of renewable energy not only promotes energy transitions, but it also promotes the UN's 2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs). Since the establishment of the "Green Energy Project Promotion Office (綠能專案推動辦公室)" in 2018, the city government proposed regeneration for all stakeholders. The energy promotion plan including the "Green Energy Roof Plan (綠能屋頂全民參與計畫)" for local industries, is in line with SDG 7 (Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all).

Taoyuan City stood out among 400 other applicants worldwide and become one of the 4 finalists for the "Green Energy" project. This affirms the long-term joint efforts of both citizens and industries of Taoyuan City Government. The city government will take this honor and continue to cooperate in the future to expand renewable energy in creating a sustainable, resilient, and compatible Taoyuan City.
