Li Yi Ting left her hometown since studying in college. She missed her mother's Indonesian cuisine while living abroad. Hence, she decided to start her own business to promote the good taste of Indonesia in Taiwan. "Pondok Sunny" (艷麗南洋鹹甜食餐廳) was originally a small store on Niupu Road in Xiang Shan, Hsinchu. However, it gradually attracted more customers of different groups and built reputations with taste adjustments, and new dish creations.

"Pondok Sunny" moved to the vicinity of Hsinchu Railway Station in 2020 and the restaurant capacity increased to 50 people. When Li Yi Ting shared about the interior design of the restaurant, it reminded her that she often discussed the store layout and interior design with her mother in Indonesia. In the end, the mother and daughter bring a restaurant with "Nanyang elements"; the most special one was the traditional and handmade Indonesian batik cloth which uses natural materials.

Li Yi Ting introduces her restaurant to everyone. If you are dining in Pondok Sunny

for the first time, "Nanyang Laksa Pot" is highly recommended to you. You can taste homemade shrimp paste, curry paste, and Indonesian Padang beef. The beef stew takes a long time to be cooked. Moreover, there are more than 10 kinds of spices alone.

For the sweet snacks, "Durian Garden Cheese Tart" is recommended.

It is rich in flavor and very delicious, just like eating fresh durian. In addition, the most popular dessert is "Nyonya Cake". The bright colors are made of natural cane sugar and coconut sugar. There are only 7 flavors of Nyonya Cake in Indonesia but we have developed 18 flavors in Pondok Sunny.

Welcome everyone to follow the "PondokSunny" Facebook fan page, or take your friends and family to the restaurant to taste these authentic Nanyang-style cuisines.
