The Villa Palmieri, once a favorite holiday destination of Queen Victoria and mentioned in Giovanni Boccaccio's literary masterpiece "Decameron," is a historic property now available for sale at over €50 million ($55 million). Located in the hills near Florence, the villa covers nearly 4,000 square meters (43,000 square feet) and is surrounded by a garden spanning nine hectares (22 acres), making it the second-largest park in the city.

The villa boasts 23 bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, a helipad, tennis court, lush gardens, and an ancient swimming pool. Its history dates back to the 14th century, originally owned by the Fini family before being purchased by Matteo di Marco Palmieri in 1454. In 1760, the property passed into English hands, eventually hosting Queen Victoria three times in the late 19th century. The villa hosted Queen Victoria three times. Dreamer Real Estate

Victoria, who valued the villa’s seclusion, ensured her stay was comfortable by arranging for personal furniture and portraits of her late husband, Prince Albert, to be sent ahead. The property’s connection to Boccaccio and its role as a venue for high-profile events highlight its rich historical and cultural significance.
