Spokesperson of the Office of the President, Kolas Yotaka, pointed out that the design of this new year card is based on the zodiac - tiger. The main colors used are bright yellow and black, and the cutting of the card presents the image of the "tiger pattern cloak" hung on the shoulder of the traditional HU YEH (虎爺).

The tiger pattern which resembles the numbers "2022" expresses the meaning of "moving forward". It is matched with the copywriting of "Be energetic and stride forward with confidence", and the "Happy New Year 2022" in English. In addition to sending the new year wish, it also represents Taiwan’s hope for the future.
