On September 10, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced seven new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the seven new cases, two are domestic and the other five are imported. The CECC reported one death today.

Regarding the two new domestic cases, Case #16173 is an over 60-year-old male. He experienced chest pain and other symptoms on September 7, and sought medical attention and was tested for COVID-19 on September 8. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on September 10. Case #16179 is an over 10-year-old male. He experienced chest pain and other symptoms on September 8, and sought medical attention and was tested for COVID-19 on September 9. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on September 10.

Regarding the five new imported cases, they arrived in Taiwan from the US (two cases), Turkey, Japan, and Armenia. They arrived between August 26 and September 8.

Regarding the one death (Case #10387) announced today, the case was an over 70-year-old male with chronic disease.

The CECC reported that a total of 2,938,839 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 2,921,268. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,069 cases. Of the 16,069 confirmed cases, 1,452 are imported; 14,563 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 839 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 839 deaths, 829 are from domestic cases and the other 10 are from imported cases.
