Thailand: Repeat offenders who do not follow mask-wearing measures can be fined up to 20,000 baht

The Thailand Epidemic Management Center announced that if people do not wear masks correctly when entering and leaving public places, which will cause the spread of the COVID-19, repeat offenders can be fined up to 20,000 baht.

According to the Epidemic Management Center, those who fail to wear masks in public places will be fined less than 1,000 baht for the first time; for a second offense, a fine of 1,000 baht to 10,000 baht can be imposed; for the third time, a fine starts from 10,000 baht to the maximum fine of 20,000 baht.

Since last April, the Epidemic Management Center has issued a mask order for prefectures with an epidemic classification of "orange" or above, requiring people to wear masks when entering and leaving prefectures or areas with high infection rates.

However, with the change of the epidemic situation, the prefectures and regions where masks are mandatory to have been expanded to all parts of Thailand last June.
