According to the Tourism Bureau, MOTC, a variety of strategies have been put up to draw both solo travelers and tour groups to Taiwan after the border control bans were lifted on October 13 of last year. Additionally, the Tourism Bureau is actively encouraging clients with high purchasing power by expanding its advertising activities for Taiwan tourism in conjunction with diverse target markets.

On August 10, there were 3.4 million foreign tourists in Taiwan, and the 4 millionth is anticipated to arrive in early September, according to the Tourism Bureau. According to additional research, the first half of this year's tourist source markets, which include Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as the long-term European and American markets, have increased by more than 50% from their pre-epidemic levels. The new Southbound Market is one of them. 40% of visitors now come to Taiwan, up from fewer than 30% before the pandemic, indicating a slow but steady recovery of the country's tourism industry.
