American YouTuber Xiaofei (小飛), who has been in Taiwan for nine years, met his friends on a trip to Nepal. They agreed to travel to Taiwan one day together and unexpectedly, the impromptu decision makes Xiaofei (小飛) fall in love with Taiwan and reside here for so many years.
Xiaofei (小飛) said although the land in Taiwan is not large but the mountains, grounds and coasts here are very unique in its way. So Xiaofei started to film his life traveling in Taiwan and started the YouTube channel "Xiaofei小飛". As a travel YouTuber, he likes to explore Taiwan's primitive mountains, forests, wild streams, waterfalls and other areas that are less visited by tourists. In this episode of "New Immigrants in Taiwan" unit, Xiaofei (小飛) shares his experiences challenging the Hehuan Mountain together with Dave - the vocalist of American indie band Pink Roses.
This time, Xiaofei (小飛) drove a camper van and took Dave on a trip around the island. At the last stop, they challenged the Hehuan Mountain, one of the mountains with altitude above 3,000 meters in Taiwan. Xiaofei (小飛) pointed out the Central Mountain Range divides Taiwan into halves and the weather changes in different seasons. This the reason why the weather in Taiwan is volatile. When climbing the mountain, you will see different sceneries. It changed from sunny to cloudy swiftly. It made Xiaofei (小飛)and Dave feel like they have “Anywhere Door”, enjoying the splendid and changing views once open the door.

Dave, who climbed to the summit, looked at the mountain scenery and said, “I almost moved to tears.” He shared landscape photos with other band members, making them want to travel here and film the best music videos. There are many places worth exploring in Taiwan mountains. “Every time he reaches the summit, he will be motivated to challenge the next”, Xiaofei (小飛) said.
