VietJet Air announced on December 24 that it will resume scheduled international flights, including Taipei, from January 1, 2022. According to a statement on the civil aviation authority's website, these countries include China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, and the United States.

The routes resumed in the first phase will have at least one round-trip flight every week, and the number of flights will continue to increase in accordance with the demands and government policies to ensure flight operations and effective disease prevention. For the second phase, it is planned to restart all international flights, including international flights to India and Russia.
