After being an exchange student in Taiwan, Lukas Engström (盧卡斯) from Sweden chose to visit Taiwan again and has been residing here for about 10 years.

Although it does not snow at low altitudes in Taiwan during winter, many foreigners still feel cold as there is usually no heater installed indoors. Therefore, Lukas suggested those who cannot handle the cold to purchase a heater, and there are cheaper choices available on community pages that sell second-hand goods.

Lucas also suggested that foreigners can download several useful Taiwanese applications on mobile phones to make life easier. For example, mobile applications for transportation which allow one to check departure and arrival times and purchase tickets.

Based on his personal experiences, Lukas found that many foreigners are shy to ask questions and step out of their comfort zone. He encouraged all to explore Taiwan actively and one will provide a helping hand to them when they need help.
