MOL to automatically extend the validity period of the employers’ permits for migrant workers to enter Taiwan

According to 4wayvoice, as the coronavirus pandemic is still going strong, Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) still maintains a Level 2 epidemic alert and continues to implement strict border control measures.

However, to prevent the problem of labor shortage from worsening, the Ministry of Labor (MOL) recently announced that for employers’ permits for migrant workers to enter Taiwan, as long as the validity period expires from January 1, 2022, to March 31, 2022, the validity period is automatically extended for 3 months, and employers no longer need to apply for an extension of the validity period to the MOL. It is estimated that approximately 70,000 employers will be benefitted.

If the validity period expires from January 1, 2022, to March 31, 2022, the validity period will be automatically extended for 3 months (for example, if the validity period of the entry permit expires on February 25, 2022, the validity period can be automatically extended to May 25, 2022), and employers do not need to apply for an extension to the MOL.
