The Youth Development Administration, MOE (教育部青年發展署) has launched the “Youth travel in Taiwan, Project looking for touching map (青年壯遊臺灣─尋找感動地圖實踐計畫)”. It is to encourage young people to plan grand tours on their own, broaden their horizons, nurture the value of autonomy and gain teamwork skills, and at the same time explore the local cultures of Taiwan.

The call for submissions for this project is from now until March 18, 2022.

A summary of the project information is as follows:

  • Application Qualifications: Young people aged from 15 to 35, at least 2 (inclusive) members or above to form a team. Young people with Taiwanese nationality & other nationalities can form a team to participate but at least one of the group members needs to be Taiwanese. All team members must participate throughout the whole process of the plan.

(2) Group categories: The applicants are categorized into "rooted seed group (扎根種子組)" for senior & junior high school students and "dream-realizing youth group (圓夢青年組)" for young people aged from 18 to 35.

(3) Contents required: To research and propose an integrated and innovative Travel Tour in Taiwan through different methods such as topic research, talent apprenticeship, and island-wide trip.

(4) Bonus for putting the plan into practice: NT$20,000-80,000. (The groups of Indigenous people, new immigrants and underprivileged families will be eligible for an additional subsidy of NT$5,000 per person with necessary documents attached)

(5) The selected team will be executing their plans between June and August 2022, and the number of days should be at least 10 days (inclusive) (The plan can be executed in stages).

(6) Supporting measures: The Youth Development Administration, MOE is scheduled to hold a consensus camp in May 2022, and an achievement showcase & sharing session in November 2022.

Those who are selected will receive part of the financial subsidy to encourage young people to fulfill their dreams of traveling in Taiwan.
