Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau Director, Gao Minlin, stated that the "Kaohsiung Ride with the Wind" event focuses on low-carbon tourism, leading many participants through Kaohsiung’s major attractions every year, providing an all-in-one experience of eating, drinking, and playing. This year’s first event will be held at Gangshan Park, cleverly integrating local culture and characteristics, allowing visitors to explore Gangshan’s old streets while experiencing the unique charm of Kaohsiung.

The event offers a rich itinerary, starting with a visit to Taiwan’s first braised food-themed tourist factory, the “Taiwan Braised Food Museum,” where participants can not only taste delicious foods but also recharge their energy. Afterward, participants can leisurely cycle along Agongdian Creek back to Shoutian Temple next to Gangshan Park, home to the world’s only “Luosi Mazu,” a 2-meter tall statue made from 25,000 washers and 13,000 nuts, symbolizing the deep connection between the local screw industry and religious beliefs in the Gangshan area.

Aside from the cycling activity, there will be a fun balance bike competition for kids at 3 p.m., featuring five different challenges set up on the green fields of Gangshan Park. Kids who complete all the challenges can participate in a prize draw and receive completion rewards. There will also be a food market and stage performances for parents to enjoy delicious food and entertainment. The Gangshan edition of the "Ride with the Wind" event features a fun balance bike competition, a favorite among children. Participants will receive a 50 NTD market voucher, a 50 NTD discount voucher for the Braised Food Museum, an eco-friendly water bottle, and a travel pouch as souvenirs. Registration for the event is currently ongoing, and spots are limited, so act quickly to secure your place at this annual extravaganza!

The Tourism Bureau reminds visitors not to forget to take home some local specialties like mutton, honey, and bean paste as souvenirs when visiting Gangshan. A two-day, one-night in-depth trip is recommended, allowing you to participate in the cycling event and explore nearby attractions such as the Gangshan Skywalk, the Aviation Education Exhibition Hall, and Agongdian Reservoir. Enjoy some leisure time at independent bookstores or youth-run cafes in the area. Lastly, don't miss the Michelin-selected "Wenduji" and the Bib Gourmand-recommended "Old City Mutton" for a true culinary feast!
