From August 1, 2023, to October 31, 2023, the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will conduct the "112 Annual Food Delivery Platform Inspection Project" to assure the hygienic and safety management of food under the delivery service. Inspections will be carried out by delivery platform operators, cooperative catering operators, and delivery service providers.

The FDA emphasized that this inspection would pay particular attention to whether food businesses are registered, if applicable food hygiene requirements are being followed, whether product liability insurance is in place, and whether or not using expired food or food raw materials. In terms of menu labeling, FDA will also intensify the examination of pertinent labels used in the catering sector, such as those indicating the provenance of raw beef, pork, and edible portions. if the food delivery conforms with the necessary Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation standards.

Additionally, the FDA expressly requests that food businesses exercise appropriate self-management and adhere to the pertinent sections of the Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation. According to the legislation, they will be penalized NT$60,000 if they violate the management of food additives and cleanliness, and if they don't repair the situation within the allotted period, up to NT$200 million will be fined. In addition, a punishment of NT$30,000 to NT$3 million will be applied if the food sold does not meet criteria for sanitation, safety, and quality.
