[Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] The 2023 " The Scholarship Program for Immigrants & their Children" organized by National Immigration Agency has begun! The online registration period is from February 20th to March 20th, 2023. The application qualifications are children of new immigrants who are currently studying at elementary school elementary school or above, new immigrants at high (vocational) school or above, and new immigrants  who have obtained A, B, C or single-level "Republic of China Technician Certificate" in past 3 years (109, 110 or 111) issued by the Ministry of Labor, depending on the award, a reward ranging from NT$2,000 to NT$30,000 will be issued. Welcome all qualified applicants to apply for scholarships.

Regarding the registration procedure, those who apply for special talent awards, outstanding scholarships, and scholarship for low-income students will be recommended by schools based on the regulations of this plan, and those who qualify will log into the scholarship system. (https://sp.immigration.gov.tw)

In addition, applicants who apply for license incentive must log in to the scholarship system by themselves. All application documents must be completed online before March 20th, 2023, and the application form with a serial number in the system must be downloaded, and attaching relevant supporting documents, then ship them to National Immigration Agency before March 27th, and use the postmark as evidence.

One of the past recipients of the special talent scholarship (鍾棋皓) who represented the children of new immigrant, claimed that because he was hyperactive and couldn't focus, he found his interest in sports through the training sessions for inline skating, skating, and basketball organized by the school instructor. At the National Disabled Games, he also competed in and won the first place of  Special Olympics roller speed skating. Also, Du(杜小靜), a new immigrant recipient who took home the B-level license incentive, admitted that she had to give up her initial work in architectural design in order to support her family. She happened to take part in vocational training, acquire several engineering management practical courses, and successfully complete the B-level formwork licensing requirements. Currently employed by a firm of architects.
