The Interior Affair plans to launch new digital eID next year in October. However, there are some concerns issued by the non-governmental organization, such as privacy issue. As a respond to that, the interior affair has been confirmed that the ID renew procedure has been planned out thoroughly and carefully for years and all the procedure are followed by the rules, including the producing of the card, the information system, regulations related to the eID and the renew procedure. This is a great progress for us to step forward to become a digital country. The official will supervise every aspect cautiously and will always place human right as our first priority concern.
The Interior Affair has stated that the eID is the combination of the Citizen Digital Certificate and current ID. It is different from using the Citizen Digital Certificate as you don’t leave any record at the Certificate Authority of MOI. Due to the personal information has already saved in the card chip, it is unnecessary to trace back to the Interior Affair when accessing the personal data. The interior affair stated that censorship will not be a problem as they won’t keep any record. Digital e ID has been planned by the official for six years throughout discussion at several panels, international conferences and workshops. In the future, more information will be announced.
