According to the 4wayvoice, Xiao Yang from Vietnam came to Taiwan to further her study five years ago. During her stay in Taiwan, she met her Taiwanese boyfriend and made many friends here, so he decided to stay in Taiwan after graduation.

She juggles working and YouTube channel "XiaoYang" as a Vietnamese living in Taiwan. The videos share the cultural differences between the two countries, and also her point of view on other aspects of life in Taiwan. One of the topics well-liked by the audience is the sharing of values on the transnational love relationship.

Both Vietnam and Taiwan have shown successful containment of the COVID-19 outbreak last year. In this episode of "New Immigrants in Taiwan" unit, XiaoYang shares her perspectives on differences in epidemic prevention between Taiwan and Vietnam.

Xiao Yang states that the epidemic prevention strategies adopted by the two countries are different mainly because of the differences in political systems. When the outbreak was escalating in Vietnam last year, the government immediately announced a nationwide lockdown. Despite the heavy economic losses, the people must cooperate with the measures. However, the Taiwan government still took into account the voices of the citizens, so the mitigation strategies were not decided as efficiently as the Vietnam government.

Despite the inconveniences caused by the pandemic, Xiao Yang said that she is quite lucky compared to many people as her work is not affected. As for daily life in times of pandemic, she holds a positive attitude towards the new normal life such as going out less frequently. She believes that she became more disciplined, and she has more me time to do housework and prepare meals. "Whether it's cooking, doing housework, or exercising, I feel that I am energized and fulfilled with the new life," she said.
