The "2023 Hsinchu City International Kite Festival" will take place on September 2 and 3 at Nanliao Port in Hsinchu. 15 of the best international kite teams from six different nations as well as about 100 masters from Taiwan are invited to compete this year. The largest whale kites in the world, two 30-meter-long kites will be released in the air. At night, illuminated kites will also be flying. The general public will also have the chance to receive a free commemorative kite if they make a purchase on the festival.

On September 2, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on September 3, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, the "Hsinchu City International Kite Festival" will take place. People who make purchases at Hsinchu Nanliao Port Boguang Market, Hsinchu Fishing and Fishery Products Outlet Center, Shell Market, and Nanliao Stores with mobile payments throughout the festival can redeem a small commemorative kite, which limited to 500 copies per day.
