According to the Pingtung County Government, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that persons aged 18 and above who are qualified may obtain a Moderna booster shot in response to the Omicron new variant. The Mayor of Pingtung County - Pan Men-an (潘孟安) asked the public to get vaccinated to protect themselves as well as others.
The Kacalisiyan Festival was held in Linhousilin Forest Park on December 11 and 12. There was a Moderna vaccination station set up by the Pingtung County Government's Public Health Bureau. Those who get vaccinated during the Kacalisiyan Festival would have received a free bag of rice as an incentive.

Mayor Pan stated that the "Kacalisiyan Festival" art and music event has been held for 6 consecutive years since 2015. In addition, CECC announced that individuals who have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 5 months ago to receive a booster shot, according to the Public Health Bureau. Furthermore, the government encourages persons who have not yet gotten the first or second jobs of a vaccine to get vaccinated in order to increase the vaccination rate as well as protect oneself and all.
