To enhance the employment capabilities of new residents and middle-aged individuals, the Taitung County Government is organizing the "New Resident Chinese Cuisine Certification In-Service Program." This program offers professional Chinese culinary training to assist participants in obtaining technical certifications and creating job opportunities. The course is open to individuals aged 15 and above, prioritizing new residents, middle-aged, and elderly individuals. Registration is open until May 9, encouraging those interested in the food and beverage industry to participate actively.

County Magistrate Rao Ching-Ling stated that, in response to aging and multicultural trends, the county government continues to promote employment policies and, in conjunction with the "Middle-aged and Elderly Employment Promotion Act," provides employment incentives and corporate hiring subsidies. This year, the "Taitung County Silver Talent Service Center" will be established to strengthen employment support for middle-aged individuals, invigorate the local workforce, and alleviate labor shortages. Additionally, specialized courses such as the "Middle-aged Patchwork Certificate" and "New Resident Chinese Cuisine Certification" are planned to allow different groups to utilize their expertise, enhance competitiveness, and create a friendly and sustainable employment environment.

Taitung County Social Affairs Director Chen Shu-Lan pointed out that the program is free of charge, totaling 140 hours. The course runs from May 22 to August 1, with classes held every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening from 6 PM to 10 PM. The curriculum includes practical training in Chinese cooking techniques, food hygiene and safety, entrepreneurship guidance, and brand marketing, assisting new residents in enhancing their workplace readiness and encouraging self-employment, thereby infusing Taitung's culinary market with multicultural flavors.
