[Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] In order to make "Expended Overstayers Voluntary Departure Program" more convenient, NIA Taipei City Service Center and Taipei City Specialized Corp have established a "one-stop" service counter on the first floor of the Taipei City Service Center. The overstayers can finish the necessary administrative processes in a day, saving time and travel expenses which makes self-reporting overstayers grateful.

On the first day of implementation of the "one-stop" counter, Rose, a Filipino overstayer, was accompanied by her nephew to the Taipei City Service Center to self-report. Rose had suffered a sudden stroke after came to Taiwan which made her incapable to move, now that the epidemic has slowed down, her nephew in the Philippines finally came to Taiwan and accompany ger home. Rose is very grateful to the "one-stop" service counter set up by the Taipei City Service Center for successfully completing the return procedures.

According to National Immigration Agency that from February 1st to June 30th, the "Expanded Overstayers Voluntary Departure Program" will be implemented. During the project period, three major measures will be adopted: no detention, exempted from entry ban, minimum fine of NT$2,000, to encourage overstayers to self-report.
In addition, National Immigration Agency has set up a free consultation hotline 0800-024-881 (ByeBye) for this program, which provides multi-language services. NIA also appeals to overstayers in Taiwan to use the time-saving and convenient "one-stop" service counter set up in the Taipei City Service Center.
