The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) recently announced the “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program” that adopts four principles including “won’t be reported”, “won’t be seized”, “won’t be charged for any fee”, and “won’t be banned”.

A statement was specially issued to the public authorities, requesting that the information need to be passed to the frontline personnel to avoid unnecessary troubles. It is hoped that the program will encourage about 83,000 overstayers in Taiwan to get vaccinated with peace of mind soon.

The Deputy Chief of CECC - Chen Tsung-yen (陳宗彥) stated that the “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program (安心接種專案)” is similar to the “Carefree Covid-19 Screening Program (安心採檢專案)” implemented before which adopted the same four principles. In the past, a total of about 28,000 people took the screening test, including more than 7,000 overstayers who were not reported and investigated.

Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency (NIA) collaborates with the central government to offer a temporary identity card number to facilitate the issuance of vaccination certificates. The employers are urged to take care of their employers’ health by encouraging foreign nationals, including undocumented migrant workers and overstayers to receive free vaccination to get vaccinated soon.
